Great tutorial. There are also lots of online tools that streamline the process. There is a new one called Intellipodcast that really makes it easy. The URL is http://www.intellipodcast.com They support both audio and video, there is a record online feature and they host your stream. You should check it out.

Thank you so much - this tutorial was very useful.
It was a good hint to keep the samson applet around the 38 db mark.. that part has always confused me..
