In my post earlier this week, I bemoaned the fact that I could not find any way to reuse Twitter Search queries that brought folks to my Twitter site (I do this commonly with my blog visitors ... helps me find valuable information as my visitors often construct keyword queries in ways I had never thought of).
Sometimes, you get lucky. While I did not find a stats tool, I think I found something better via a new feature just released for Twitter Gadget (a Twitter account reader). Anyhow when I logged in this morning I found two new services:
- Translate
- Search
The user interface is cool. All I have to do is highlight any words or terms in any of the Tweets from the folks I follow, and up pops a search or translate menu. I love both of these features (see the screen shots). The translation feature will allow me to get more value from folks who I know are smart, but often post in languages in addition to English. One must think global.
The second feature will be fantastic. When I see a phrase, term or word I would like to follow up upon, conducting a search is trivially easy. Thus, my desire to use other folks thought process via search appears to be solved. In fact, I don't even need them to visit my site ... just need to initiate a follow. Very cool, and useful.
